When is hospice the answer? How is it arranged and paid for? What is the difference between hospice and palliative care?
These are just some of the many confusing questions which Dignity Hospice can answer. Since its founding in 2014, Dignity has been a trusted provider of hospice, palliative and related care in the 19 counties we serve in Dallas Fort Worth.
By virtue of its economic success, population boom and migration patterns, the DFW metroplex is projected to experience a 300+% increase in its elderly population by 2050. This demographic change necessitates resources and services that offer much needed information, experience and expertise to help ease the transition.
Our mission at Dignity Hospice is to be one of these resources. We aim to provide exceptional levels of comfort, compassion and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses, their caregivers and their families — not just patients at the point of imminent death. Tragically, many patients who qualify for hospice do not avail of its benefits earlier in their diagnosis, when the quality of life can be vastly improved at a time when it is most needed.
Our multi-disciplinary team of nurses, doctors, social workers, therapists, counselors, chaplains and other hospice personnel is there 24/7 for symptom management, pain management, respite care for exhausted caregivers, and emotional support. We seek to make certain that the lives of the patients we serve are lived with quality and dignity. In the event of a patient passing, Dignity Hospice continues caring for their families up to 13 months after, so they do not mourn uncomforted while they cope with issues during and after the final stages of life.
